General Notes: Husband - John McQuiston

---

He was a North Carolinian, who came with his parents to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1801, when only an infant. Although by trade a shoemaker, he was among the first in the county to establish a grist mill and a saw mill and also built the first grain cradle in that section. His pioneer grist mill was first operated by horse power but later was run by water power. He died at the advanced age of eighty-four.
