Holiday weekend crashes leave 1 dead, 11 hurt
A Novato man was killed, and 11 persons injured, in six accidents on Mendocino County roads over the weekend.
Craig Lusher, 24, died Friday evening when his motorcycle collided head-on with a car on Highway 20, two miles east of Potter Valley Road.
Dean Mazzaferri, 23, of San Bruno, the driver of the car, was not injured. Melanee Mazzaferri, 21, suffered moderate injuries and went to Ukiah General Hospital.
According to the Highway Patrol, Lusher was westbound at 10 p.m. and crossed into the eastbound lane, striking the Mazzaferri vehicle head-on.
Zimmerman Mortuary is handling arrangements.

Motorcycle crash kills Novato man
Craig A. Lusher, 24, of 7 Jeffrey Court, was killed Friday night when his motorcycle collided head on with a small foreign car in the Ukiah area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lusher was westbound on Highway 20 two miles east of the Potter Valley intersection about 10 p.m. when his motorcycle apparently crossed into the
oncoming lane and collided with a car driven by Dean Mazzaferri, 23, of San Bruno, the CHP said.
Lusher was dead on arrival at Ukiah General Hospital.
A native of California, Lusher was the son of the late Ted and Claire Lusher.
He was a carpenter and was a member of Carpenter Union Local 35.
Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Penny and Terry Dodds, of Novato; another sister, Laura Lusher and a brother, Ted Lusher.
Funeral was held this morning at Keaton's Chapel of Marin.
Memorial contributions to a favorite charity are preferred by the family.
