James G. Watson.
James G. Watson, 73, a well-known life-long resident of Rockland, died in the Franklin hospital at 10:15 o'clock Saturday night. Mr. Watson was born in Rockland township Sept. 8, 1866, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watson.
He engaged in farming and was driver of the Rockland school bus 21 years until his retirement a year ago. Mr. Watson was widely known in Rockland Township and was admired and respected by a host of friends. He was a member of the Rockland Methodist Church.
His wife, the late Mrs. Margaret Lusher Watson, died three years ago. Surviving Mr. Watson are one daughter, Mrs. Wilbur C. Hull, Franklin; a brother, W. E. Watson of Wayne, O., two sisters, Mrs. Ella A. Borland, of Franklin, and Mrs. Mary Maitland, of Washington, Pa., and one grandson, Billy Hull.
The body was removed to the home of his daughter, 741 Fifteenth Street, where a prayer service will be conducted at 1 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The funeral will be conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon from the Rockland Methodist church by Rev. O. C. McNulty, pastor of the church, and Rev. R. K. Rumbaugh, of Volant, a former pastor of the Rockland church. Interment will be in the Rockland cemetery.

Services in memory of James G. Watson, who died in the Franklin hospital Saturday, were conducted Tuesday afternoon in the Rockland Methodist church by Rev. E. O. McNulty, pastor of the church and Rev. R. K. Rumbaugh of Volant, a former pastor of the church. A prayer service was held earlier in the afternoon at the home of Mr. Watson's son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur C. Hull of 741 Fifteenth Street, Franklin.
The pallbearers here were Clair Kirkpatrick, Owen Marks, Herbert Cheers, Sam Myers, Dave Cross and H. Carl Wasson. Interment was in the Rockland cemetery. The pallbearers at the church were W. G. Lusher, Kenneth F. Lusher, F. L. Borland, Wade Bell, W. M. Beck and Fred Gates.
The hymns, "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me" and "Sometime We'll Understand," and Tennyson's poem, "Crossing the Bar," were read by Rev. McNulty.
The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful and many friends united in paying tribute to the well-known Rockland resident. Among those from out of town at the services were:
William W. Watson, Wayne, O.; Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Jolley; Mrs. Mary Maitland, Washington, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Marburger, Mars, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Perrine, Grove City; Mrs. W. A. Chaplin, Cheswick.

Mrs. James Watson.
Mrs. Margaret Lusher Watson, age 75, wife of James Watson, died suddenly at her home at Davis Corners, Rockland Township, at 12:15 o'clock Sunday morning from a heart attack. Mrs. Watson had started for Sunday School at the Rockland Methodist Episcopal Church. A few rods from her home she was stricken and re-traced her steps to her home. A physician was called and she died half an hour later.
Mrs. Watson was born in Rockland on Nov. 23, 1859, and had spent her entire life in that community. She was greatly admired by a wide circle of friends. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and its allied organizations and was especially active in the Ladies' Aid.
Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. W. C. Hull, of Franklin, one grandson, three brothers, Andrew Lusher, Swissvale, Perry, Bully Hill, Harry, Rockland, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, Woodville, Mich.
The funeral will be held from the Rockland Church at 2 pm Tuesday, in charge of Rev. W. B. Moore.
