General Notes: Husband - David Lyle

He was born in Northampton County, Pennsylvania. While still in his teens, he appears to have enlisted in the Colonial Army in the War of the Revolution under General Anthony Wayne. He saw hard service and this seems to have undermined his health, since he was never rugged afterwards.
When three of his brothers and their families removed to Washington County in 1784, he remained in Northampton County with their mother until 1787, when they also removed to Washington County. He purchased a tract of land adjoining the farms of his brothers, John and Robert Lyle. This tract lay to the east of the John Lyle farm, and to the north of Robert Lyle's farm.
