General Notes: Husband - John MacBride

He was an importer and shipowner, and conducted a large store in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the time of the revolutionary war. His younger brother was a soldier in the continental army and was killed by the British in the massacre at Paoli, and when the news of his death reached Mr. MacBride he locked up his store and enlisted as a private soldier in the American army.
