General Notes: Husband - Prof. William Marvell Nevin


He was professor of ancient languages and belles lettres in Marshall College, 1840-53, and in Franklin and Marshall College, 1853-72. He was afterward alumni professor of English literature and belles lettres, 1872-87, and professor emeritus, 1887-92.

He was one of the most thoroughly educated men in the state and a writer of unusual force.
