General Notes: Husband - William Rankin


He was the first of the Rankin line to settle in Centre County, Pennsylvania. He settled on a farm two miles west of Potter's Mills. Shortly after he was elected and ordained an elder of the Sinking Spring Church. He was the second sheriff of the county in 1803, and from 1806 to 1810 represented the county in the Legislature. In 1828 he removed to Ferguson township, near the Centre line.

His residence was in Spruce Creek Valley.
