He was born in Diamond Valley, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, and in 1855 came to Graham township, Clearfield County, where he purchased one hundred acres of land known as the Kyler farm, which he at once began to clear and improve. Later, he sold, and removed to Bald Eagle Valley, Centre County, where he rented a farm for a few years, removing finally to Centre County [sic], where he passed the last years of his life.
