General Notes: Husband - Joseph W. Marshall

He remained with his parents until after his marriage. He then purchased a farm from General Robert Orr. He was a thresherman for many seasons and was also a lumberman, but his principal occupation was farming. Mr. Marshall held the office of Supervisor for several years.

He was reared on his father's farm, attended the public schools of Wayne township and, leaving school, commenced farming, which he followed until 1885, when he moved to Dayton, where he became engaged in the livery business as proprietor of a leading livery, sales and feed stable. He owned a good farm of one hundred and fifty-five acres in Wayne township, as well.
