General Notes: Husband - Samuel Phipps

It is supposed that he moved from Chester, Pennsylvania, and took up his residence in Westmoreland County, where he must have lived when his two sons, John and Nathan, came to Venango County. It is not known whether or not he was ever in Venango County. [CAB, 520]

He moved to Ohio in 1815. A man of remarkable vigor. He lived past the age of One Hundred and Five years. It is not known if he was ever in Venango County, where his two sons John and Nathan had settled in 1797. He served in the Revolutionary War. A private in Captain Joseph Johnson's Company, 6th Class, 4th Battalion Soldier. Goshen Twp, Chester Co, PA.

General Notes: Wife - Mary Marshall

Another source states that she was born in 1738, and died in 1835.
She was a member of a famous Pennsylvania family, a cousin of "Mad Anthony" Wayne. [CAB, 584]
