General Notes: Husband - James Montgomery

He was from near Strongstown, Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He married and in the fall of 1849 they moved to Clearfield County. Mr. Montgomery followed rafting and working in saw mills. He and his wife did not live agreeably. She with her family removed to Fulton County, Illinois, in November, 1861. They resided near Vermont, Illinois, where they purchased some property.
