General Notes: Husband - Henry Philip Conrad Wagner

He was reared to farm life, and in 1860 he purchased a portion of a homestead in Forward township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and later added thereto, until he had a farm of nearly 170 acres. He learned the carpenter's trade, and for a time followed that business in connection with farming. He always manifested interest in the public schools, served as school director, and also filled the office of township auditor. In politics, he was a Democrat, and in religion, adhered to the German Reformed church. He was an elder in the Evans City congregation for many years.
