General Notes: Husband - Charles G. Martin


He enjoyed liberal educational training, attending Grove City College and the Ohio Northern University, graduating in the classical course at the latter institution in 1890. He then read law under attorneys Wintermute & McConahy, and was admitted to the bar in 1895, then he engaged in the active practice of his profession. He was a member of the Lawrence County Bar Association, a director in the New Castle Trotting Association and owned stock in other industrial concerns of New Castle, Pennsylvania.
He was a member and active worker in the First Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the city School Board and gave close attention to its affairs. He belonged to the Odd Fellows, the Elks and to the Royal Arcanum.
