General Notes: Husband - Rev. George W. Mechling, D.D.


He became a Presbyterian minister and for many years was pastor of the Glade Run Church at Dayton, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.

He was educated at Butler Academy, and Jefferson College, graduating from the latter in the class of 1853. He also was graduated at the Western Theological Seminary. He was ordained in 1857, his first charge being Concord and Glade Run churches, resigning the former in 1865. He was the pastor of Glade Run for over twenty-two years, and teacher for eight, viz: 1857 to 1865, and principal of the Glade Run Academy, beginning in 1865. The degree of D. D. was conferred upon him in 1874, by Washington and Jefferson College.
