General Notes: Husband - George Mattern


When about twenty-two years of age he went to live with his older brother, Samuel, with whom he remained some two years and a half. In 1859 he married and located on a farm of nearly 400 acres.
He was afflicted with rheumatism for many years, after 1881 was not able to walk at all, and after 1890 was confined to his bed.
