General Notes: Husband - James McCracken

He learned the blacksmith trade in Sheaklyville, Mercer County, PA. In 1847, he went to Franklin, Venango County, and worked at his trade until 1860, when he purchased a farm in Canal township, where he moved and engaged in some oil speculations, but not being successful in that business he abandoned it. In 1864, he removed to Waterloo and resumed his trade as his vocation. After his second marriage, he remained in Waterloo until 1871. They then moved back on his farm where they continued to live, he following farming as his vocation. [HVC 1879, 556]
