General Notes: Husband - John William Mayes

---

In 1822, he came from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and settled in the southern part of Venango County, where he remained until his death. He was the father of sixteen children, of whom thirteen became men and women.

He was a tailor, and followed his trade in connection with his farming. He was the father of sixteen children, seven daughters and nine sons. Hezekiah was the seventh son.
