OLIVER P. MAYS, Rockland Township.
Oliver P. Mays was born March 10, 1836, his parents, Thomas and Henrietta Mays, settling in Rockland township 100 years ago, his father building the first grist mill in that section of the county. Oliver took up the same calling, erecting a number of grist and saw mills, being in his day one of the leading milwrights and carpenters of the county. By his marriage to Miss Lyda Ann Waite eleven children were born, those living being Carlos, Thomas, Oliver, Urilda and Nancy Ann.
Although well along in life, Mr. Mays still retains a large share of his youthful energy, looking well after his farm work and thoroughly enjoying the companionship of his neighbors.
