General Notes: Husband - Maj. William B. Mays


Civil War: He enlisted September 6, 1861. He was enrolled as a lieutenant, and before the end of the war he attained the rank of Captain, Major and Colonel. Co. L, 4th PA Cavalry. He was killed in action at Farmville, Virginia. The Franklin, Pennsylvania, G. A. R. Post was named in his honor.
