General Notes: Husband - Alexander McCalmont Wilson

He passed his boyhood and youth in Franklin, Pennsylvania, and in 1859 entered the well-known school, now the University of West Virginia, at Morgantown, West Virginia. In 1862 at the age of seventeen he left school to enlist in the One Hundred and Third Regiment, Ohio Volunteers, for service in defence of the Union. He was soon detailed for duty with General J. D. Cox (afterwards governor of Ohio) and participated in the severe fighting engaged in by the Army of the Tennessee, commanded by General Hood, as part of the operations in connection with General Sherman's famous march to the sea. After the war he engaged for a time in the oil refining business in Philadelphia, having built the first oil refinery in that city. He afterwards held various positions of responsibility under the government and at the time of his death was a member of the board of review of the Pension Bureau of the Department of the Interior at Washington. [GPHAV, 673]

General Notes: Wife - Mary McBride
