He had a family of one son and five daughters. He settled about 1833 in Brady Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, on the farm later owned by his son, J. M. Thompson, Esq. He was accidentally drowned in Slippery Rock Creek in 1860. [HBC 1883, 364]
