General Notes: Husband - John A. McCandless


He lived in Franklin Township, Butler County, PA, and followed farm­ing all his life, with the exception of a few years when he carried on a store at Sunbury, during which time he also carried the mail. During his earlier years, he was a mem­ber of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, but later united with St. John's Methodist Episco­pal Church near Sunbury. Eight of their nine children grew to matur­ity.
