General Notes: Husband - William McChesney

He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and received a good education in the schools of that city. With his father he moved to Beaver County, and bought a farm. After five years' farming he sold his property and moved to Mount Jackson, Lawrence County, and there started in mercantile business. Eight years having been thus spent, he purchased and cultivated a fine farm in Newport. Under contract with the U. S. Government, he carried the mail from Plain Grove to Rochester, Pennsylvania, via New Castle.
