General Notes: Husband - Frank Saal

He attended the Greenville, PA, schools until he was sixteen years of age; learned the cooper’s trade under his father, and for five years was connected with the brewery in which his uncle was interested. Later he was associated with his brother-in-law in the soda water and bottling industry and then became connected with the Bessemer Railway Company shops at Greenville as a bridge carpenter. After serving thus until 1901, he was promoted to the foremanship of the carpentry department. In his fraternal and civic relations to the community he also attained high standing. He filled all the chairs of the local lodge of Knights of Pythias, and was a member of the Uniformed Rank for over twenty-one years. In politics a firm Democrat, he was made a member of the Greenville City Council in 1907. His religious connections were with the German Reformed church, with which many generations of his family were identified.
