General Notes: Husband - Samuel Truby Rugh

He received his education in the public schools of his district, and helped his grandfather, Simeon Truby, in the store until 1898, when he started out for himself. Buying a farm of 117 acres near by, he became engaged in general farming and stock raising. He eventually became the owner of 300 acres of land.
In politics he was a Republican, a great admirer of Colonel Roosevelt. He was quite active in educational work in his community, being a school director in his district for ten years. He served four years as member of the council of Mechanicsburg borough. He was liberal in his church views.
