General Notes: Husband - Crandall D. Roberts

He received his education at the public schools which he attended until sixteen years of age, when he left home for Kansas, for the purpose of farming. He remained there three years, then returned and worked on his father's farm until he was married, when he purchased his own farm, consisting of one hundred acres. He engaged in stock-farming and shipping of stock, usually sending from two to three carloads of sheep, cattle and hogs a fortnight during the autumn season.
Politically, Mr. Roberts was allied with the Republican Party. He held the offices of school director and township auditor, holding the latter office for a period of fifteen years. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
