General Notes: Husband - John Leamon Patterson

He obtained his education in the public schools and from the age of nineteen years was engaged in farming, being associated with his father until the latter 's death, in 1880, after which he was in charge. He devoted his land to the growing of grain and hay and to grazing, each year raising a large amount of fine stock.
He and his family belonged to the United Presbyterian Church at North Buffalo, in which he was an elder and for a number of years was a trustee. Mrs. Patterson was interested in church missionary work. Mr. Patterson always upheld the principles of the Republican party. He was frequently elected to office by his fellow citizens and at times was judge of elections and also supervisor. In June, 1909, he was re-elected a member of the school board, on which he had already served for an unusual period. He owned stock in the Buffalo Telephone Company.
