General Notes: Husband - Huston Russell

He was reared in Cherry Township, Butler County, PA, went to school there in boyhood and was trained by a very practical father to be a good farmer, and he made agricultural pursuits his life work. In the summer of 1864 he enlisted for service in the Civil War, entering Captain Barnes' company in the Sixth Regiment, Pennsylvania Heavy Artillery. He remained in the service until the close of the war and then returned to Cherry Township, where he then resided on a property formerly belonging to his father-in-law.
