General Notes: Husband - Alexander Ramsey

He was born on the family homestead in Cranberry township, Butler County, PA, and grew to maturity amidst the dangers and privations of pioneer days. He first located in Cranberry township, and later removed to a tract of land in the southern part of Jackson township, which he had purchased in 1841. He and his wife were members of the United Presbyterian church of Evans City beginning at its organization, and he was a stanch supporter of the Democratic party since he cast his first vote.
