General Notes: Husband - Joseph Tebay

He settled in Muddy Creek township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, in 1819; he was a native of England, and emigrated to America with his father, mother, and three brothers. They purchased a tract of land which originally was owned by one John Haines, granted to him by the United States in 1798 for services rendered in the American Army during the Revolutionary war. This farm consisted of one hundred acres, and lay in the northwestern part of the township; his brothers also purchased farms in this township and lived on them until they were old men.

He came to America with his parents when twelve years of age. He was reared on his father's farm in Muddy Creek Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, and was there engaged in farming all his life.
