General Notes: Husband - James P. McKelvy, M.D.

He was born on the well known old homestead of his ancestry, near Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, and attended the public schools of that place and also the Pittsburgh high schools three years, after which he took up chemistry and attended Columbia College. For three years he followed his profession as a chemist and was in the employ of McIntire & Hemphill. Subsequently he took up medicine and graduated from the medical department of Columbia College in 1901. He then spent two years in the Roosevelt Hospital, New York city. In 1904 he opened an office in Pittsburgh, on North Highland avenue, among the wealthy class, and built up a large practice. His office apartments were among the best to be found in the East End.
