General Notes: Husband - Alexander Taylor

Prior to 1790, located on a farm, on the Saltsburg road, four miles and a half southwest of the borough of Indiana, then Westmoreland, now Indiana County, Pennsylvania. He was a land surveyor and made surveying his principal business. For the times in which he lived he was a very good scholar, and from him his family, in the absence of schools at that early day, received such education as he could find time to devote to that object. He removed to this locality from Bedford County. [HIC 1880, 523]

Removing to Bedford County, Pennsylvania, [from near Philadelphia?] he lived there for some time, and then (before 1790) came west to what is now Indiana (but then was Westmoreland) County, purchasing a farm four miles south of what is now the borough of Indiana. By profession he was a surveyor. He served in the Revolutionary War.

The source does not make clear which of his children were the issue of which of his wives.
