General Notes: Husband - Henry Welty

He was probably descended from Swiss ancestry, as it is thought his father's birth occurred in Switzerland. However, his father came to America when young, and after living near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, for a short time settled in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, where he remained during his latter life and where he reared his family.

His active career was devoted to the mercantile business, in which he met with considerable success. Although brought up in the Reformed church he attended the Presbyterian church the greater part of his life. His death occurred at the advanced age of ninety-one years. [WON, 42]
