He owned several lots in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, and for some time lived in a log house on the corner of Market and Fourth streets. At the time of his death, he had traded this property for seventy acres of land in Kelly township, Union County, but it had not been entirely paid for, and the business of settling the estate was further complicated by the long minorities of some of the children.
