General Notes: Husband - Asahel Mead

He was killed in Wyoming massacre in 1778.

At an early period in the Revolutionary War the Indians began their onslaughts on the defenseless frontier settlements of Pennsylvania, and during one of those raids, Asahel, the second eldest son of Darius Mead, fell a victim.

Another source states that his brothers General David and John remained in Meadville, Crawford County; Joseph and Darius went to Warren County about 1799; and Ansel went South. [HWC 1887, lxvii]
