General Notes: Husband - William Sherman Postlewait


He grew up on a farm, and acquired his education in the district schools. He was a lumberman, miner and farmer, owning and occupying a farm of eighty-seven acres on Mahoning creek one mile north of Valier, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania, also operating a coal mine on his farm.
He served in the offices of supervisor and justice of the peace, serving at least two terms in the latter capacity. In political faith he was a Republican. He and his wife were members of the Presbyterian Church, which he served as elder, and he had been elder in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church previous to the union.


General Notes: Wife - Linda Uzilla Means


She was a charter member of the Valier Presbyterian Church, and had previously been associated with the Presbyterian Church at Perrysville. She taught the infant class in the Sunday school for some time, was president of the Willing Workers and a member of the W. C. T. U., and had charge of the Mothers' Department.
