General Notes: Husband - Lester Melvin

He grew to manhood in West Salem Township, Mercer County, PA, and received his education in the district school of his neighborhood. He was a stanch Democrat, and in 1882 was elected justice of the peace, and served one term. He was again chosen to the same office in 1888. He served seventeen years on the school board of West Salem Township.
