General Notes: Husband - Joseph Scherg


He was a Mennonite preacher. He removed from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Fayette County, and on this journey was accompanied by his wife and his son, Joseph, Jr. In the year 1790 he moved to Westmoreland County, settling near what became Everson, where his death occurred. According to his will made November 23, 1811, and recorded at Uniontown, Fayette County, will book No. 1, page 140, which was probated February 20, 1812, he left a widow well provided for.

By this generation the family name was changed from Scherg to Sherrick.


General Notes: Wife - Anna Mercer


She was a distant relative of General Mercer, of Revolutionary fame.
She lived to the age of eighty-four years, three months and eleven days.
