General Notes: Husband - Adam Mershimer


He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, and removed with his parents to Lawrence County, where he engaged in farming.

He devoted his time principally to farming, although he also conducted a plow manufacturing business of no small dimensions.

He served in the War of 1812, being a part of the fleet under Commodore Perry.
