He was an engineer and architect and was contractor's engineer in the building of the Carnegie Library, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He superintended the construction of the first "skyscraper" in Little Rock, Arkansas, and later was resident manager for a large architectural company at Waco, Texas.
