General Notes: Husband - John Miller

Miller is an exceedingly common name in Pennsylvania and other parts of the United States, belonging to many different families and to at least two distinct stocks. For while many families of British origin bear this name, there is a probably smaller but not inconsiderable number of families of German descent whose name was formerly Mueller, but has been anglicized into Miller. In Chester County, Pennsylvania, to which the present family is traced, there were, very early in the eighteenth century, three Miller families, perhaps related, all presumably of English or Irish origin.
