General Notes: Husband - Joseph Miller


He lived with Gen. Markle when he was a boy, but while yet young removed to Franklin township (Murrysville), Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where he remained until his death. He was for some time engaged in keeping hotel and also in the mercantile business; in religious belief he adhered to the Presbyterian creed and politically was a whig, taking an active part in politics.

He was a farmer, a merchant and miller. His home was on the Philadelphia pike and he was for several years treasurer of the Pike Association. He was a member of the session of the Presbyterian church.
