General Notes: Husband - John B. Peelor

In the early days, according to tradition, there was a large Indian encampment on Curry Run, about twenty-five rods northeast of the site of the John B. Peelor residence. A ring well defined could be seen for many years. The Kittanning path passed by this ring. A blockhouse was situated eighty rods northeast of the house and fifty-five northeast of the ring. A supposed Indian burying ground was situated on the adjoining, or Robinson farm, near Curry Run Presbyterian Church. A part of the John B. Peelor farm was patented to Moses Hobson in 1807, and was sold to Jacob Peelor in 1808. Another was patented to Alexander Cobean in 1815, the warrant being dated 1788, and issued to William Lackey.
