He and his wife came from Westmoreland County, PA, to Clarion County in 1822. He was a stanch Democrat in politics and a Lutheran in religious faith, and died at the age of forty years [another source: fifty-six years].
The daughters born to them died in childhood.
Another source: He and his wife held membership in the Reformed Church.
