General Notes: Husband - Capt. James H. Pennell

He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and was engaged in the foundry business there and afterward moved to Pleasantville, where he was a justice of the peace for many years.

After settling in northwestern Pennsylvania he followed the oil business, merchandising and other activities. He was a Democrat and took an active part in politics, held membership in the Presbyterian Church, and was a well known man of his day. His death occurred at the age of seventy-two years in Pleasantville, Venango County, where he and his wife are buried.

His wife wife was a member of the Bickham family. [Possibly he was married more than once?]
