General Notes: Husband - Wesley Weitzel Miller, M.D.


He acquired an excellent education in the Mt. Vernon public school, which he attended until 1881. After entering upon an active business career he continued his studies under the private tuition of the Rev. George D. Crissman, then of Stahlstown, Pennsylvania. In the autumn of 1889 he entered the Western Pennsylvania Medical College, from which he was graduated in the spring of 1892. He at once began the active practice of his profession in Stahlstown, Pennsylvania, and continued there until 1895, when he came to Jeannette, Westmoreland County. He was very successful in his diagnosis and treatment of disease, and built up an extensive and lucrative practice.
He was actively interested in various leading enterprises in the town, among which were the Jeannette National Bank, of which he was a director and stockholder from 1892 to 1895; Jeannette Oil & Gas Company, in which he was a stockholder ; and the Jeannette Transfer Company, in which he was a stockholder and director from 1900 to 1903.
He was a member of the school board of Jeannette beginning 1904, secretary of Westmoreland county's association of school directors. He was an active member and trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Jeannette. He was a Republican in politics.
He was a member of the Jeannette, Westmoreland County and state medical societies, and also American Medical Association.
He was a member of Philanthropy Lodge, No. 225, Greensburg, F. and A. M. ; Council No. 13, Urania Chapter No. 192; Heptasophs and Maccabees.
