General Notes: Husband - Jacob F. Neely

He received a common school education and began for himself in the lumber business in Elk County, PA. In 1861 he caught the oil fever and obtained a farm of one hundred and twenty-four acres with thirty producing wells thereon. He was a member of the Masonic order, was a charter member of the first I. O. O. F. lodge of Oil City, and served as township committeeman for the Democratic party.
