After completing his schooling in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, he farmed on the home place with his father. Later he removed to Grove City and was there engaged in business for eleven years. After 1924 Mr. Montgomery conducted a business at Harrisville, where he was manufacturing concrete blocks.
He was a Democrat and held membership in the Methodist Church.
