Georgia L. Montgomery, 86, of Jal, N.M., died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, in Hobbs Health Care Center in Hobbs, N.M.
Born April 5, 1910, in Knox, she was a daughter of Percy L. and Gertrude Wassum Whitling.
Mrs. Montgomery was a retired U.S. Postal Service clerk.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Jal.
Her husband, Frank Montgomery, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two children, Helen Shelton of Jal, N.M., and George Montgomery of Sugar Land, Texas; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchilden.
She also is survived by two brothers, Don Whitling of Emlenton and Jack Whitling of Comanche, Texas; and four sisters, Maxine Hamilton of Shippenville, Lois Nunemaker of Hadley, Peg Domer of Oil City and Shirley Stokes of Odessa, Texas.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by three brothers, Alan Whitling, Harold Whitling and Leroy Whitling.
Services were held in the First United Methodist Church in Jal, with burial following in Kermit Cemetery.
