General Notes: Husband - Alexander Moorhead

He was fifteen years of age when his father died. He and his mother emigrated to America in 1764, landing at Philadelphia and thence proceeding to Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. On the same vessel in which they made the voyage came a family named Morrow, and young Alexander Moorhead married the daughter Mary Morrow. In 1780 he brought his mother, wife and three children to Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and the name became one of the most distinguished in the pioneer annals of that region.

He was a very early settler of Indiana County, Pennsylvania, locating near the site of Homer City, in 1781. He died in Clarion County in his ninety-third year.
